FERRARI 456 GT/GTA - by
The early 90s were a roller coaster of emotions at Ferrari. Enzo Ferrari's passing
caused a maniacal change in the collector car market. Every Ferrari became a
sought after item and hordes of Ferraris were snapped up by people who wanted
to make an investment. Meanwhile at Maranello, there was no 2+2 seater car in
the lineup. Who would want a big, husky over proportioned 2+2 Ferrari and why
would the factory even consider producing one? While many saw a need for a 2+2
they were concerned because the most recent family of Ferrari 2+2s, introduced
with the 365 GT4 2+2 in 1973 and extending through the 400, 400i and 412 series,
never sold well and was never officially imported into the USA.
